It’s a voluntary job because it’s my passion to assist and care for people, providing personal care, such as showering, shaving, oral hygiene and dressing, administering medication, monitoring health and wellbeing, maintaining records and reporting any changes, assisting with meal preparation and household tasks.

• Develop and implement personalised care plans based on individual needs and aspirations.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Nurture a supportive and empathetic environment to address emotional and psychological needs.
• Encourage and engage individuals in activities that promote social interaction and personal development.
• Facilitate skill-building activities to enhance independence and self-confidence.
• Provide guidance and encouragement for individuals to learn and practice essential life skills.
• Maintain clear and open communication with individuals, their families, and healthcare professionals.

I Work under the direction and supervision of the ITU Nurse in charge to support the ITU team in the provision of delegated nursing care to patient and to maintain an efficient environment suitable for the care of critically ill adults.

Responsibilities include monitoring, assessment, vital sign monitoring, ventilatory management, medication administration, intravenous insertion and infusion, central line care, catheters, and maintenance of a running record of the patient's status.
