LGA Facilitator, Hard-to-Reach
- Coordinate baseline support services and referral linkages to Sexual and Gender-based Violence- SGBV survivors in Humanitarian Emergencies to enhance and improve access to qualitative care, especially in Hard-to-Reach Areas
- Provide clinical services and referral to pre-identified GBV-Service-Providing Points, including identification of at least an individual by name, means of contact
- Partner with Government, United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund), IRC (International Rescue Committee), Save the Children, IOM (International organization of Migrants), and others in Hard-to-Reach Areas for quality programming implementation, and supportive supervision of services
- Participate in all Gender-Based Violence (GBV)-related activities to improve cross-fertilization of information, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Terms of Reference for better service quality
- Work with a team to design and implement interventions that are appropriate for the culture and situation; that address the issues, risks, and problems identified; that are in keeping with international best practices; and that can be accomplished with the capacity of actors/communities/organisations in the setting
- Relate with health sector partners including State Ministry of Health (SMOH), State Primary Healthcare Development Agency(SPHCDA), and others to identify and distribute medical commodities essential for the management of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence(SGBV) survivors, among vulnerable groups and Hard-to-Reach populations
- Facilitate trainings to participants on Firs-Line Support to survivors of GBV and referrals trainings to survivors of all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) cases
- Train service providers including Mid-wives, Doctors, Nurses, Community Health Workers (CHEWs) on Basic introductions and sensitization, Clinical Management of sexual violence (SV)/Rape and intimate partner violence (IPV) as well as Mental Health Care, using the Mental Health Gap Actions Program Intervention Guide (mh-GAP IG)
- Sensitize community and all key stakeholders (religious groups, women-associations, disabled, discriminated, youth associations, schoolteachers, Civil society Organizations using Information, Education and Communications materials to reduce stigma associated with cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and empower survivors
- Collaborate with media aids to disseminate key messages on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV)
- Attend periodic Gender-Based Violence(GBV) meetings to review program implementation, monitoring and evaluation of impact using appropriate indicators, aimed at improving service delivery with enhanced availability, accessibility
- Produce weekly/monthly reports on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) activities to supervisory units
- Leveraging on Extended Program on Immunization/Polio Eradication Initiative structure to implement Gender-Based Violence-based activities in Hard-to-Reach areas/underserved populations
- Provide basic Psychosocial Support to survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV)
- Provide maternal and child health services including focused antenatal care, Routine Immunization, exclusive breastfeeding, household hygiene, treatment of minor ailments, referrals, and Voluntary Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) voluntary counseling and testing
- Conduct active surveillance activities on Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR)/Epidemic Prone Diseases among Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and host communities
- House-to-house active case search for epidemic-prone disease
- Response to disease outbreaks such as cholera, cerebrospinal meningitis, measles
- Contac- tracing activities in viral hemorrhagic fever outbreaks such as Lassa fever.
- Enhanced leadership abilities and expertise by delivering forward-thinking training to over 120 management staff
- Enhanced leadership abilities and expertise by delivering forward-thinking training to over 220 management staff
