  • I worked under supervision as the first on-call doctor attending to patients from numerous walks of life in the accident and emergency, out-patient and in-patient basis
  • I participated in the care of several patients with medical conditions like asthma, epilepsy, inflammatory bowel disease, diseases of pregnant and non pregnant women as well as children etc
  • My tasks included clerking, sample collection, setting up intravenous lines, requesting investigations, prescribing medications, and overall care

  • I was a clinical observer under supervision in the Cardiology unit (Coronary Care Unit) and on the general medical ward
  • I observed how patients with several cardiology and other health conditions are managed in the UK, from acute heart failure to hypertension, diabetes, chronic obstructive airway disease, etc
  • I observed procedures such as telemetry, ECG, echocardiography, etc
  • I also interacted with observed procedures at the A&E a few times, especially at weekends, and learned a lot about management of acute conditions like diabetic ketoacidosis, acute severe asthma, stroke, etc
