Responsible for the proactive monitoring of the processes and equipment in production, processing, loading, storage, offloading and ballasting operations, responding to and addressing the attendant plant and equipment issues to ensure safe and efficient operations of oil and gas facilities.
Responsible for ensuring all subcontractors are properly permitted and monitored for adherence to safe work practices and company protocols in the assigned area of responsibility.
Leverage handheld and desktop IT tools to capture daily equipment/plant monitoring statuses.
Perform Operator’s Routine Duty. Routine duties in operations are carried-out in five different zones of the FPSO: (1) Pumpman – use of UTI equipment for 12-hourly cargo tank gauging, oil sample collection from cargo tank using Sample Thief, pre-offload fiscalization, LACT Unit Sample Pot Cleaning and Inspection with government officials, post-offload defiscalization, OMNI Calculations and Printouts, Inert Gas Generator and Inert Gas operations, operation of Diesel Purifier and diesel fuel management, cargo tank cleaning operations, solenoid valves management in the operation of hydraulic-actuated valves, ballast system operations – pumps, valves and tanks, main-deck housekeeping; (2) Topside – operation of Gas Turbine Generators, operations of heat medium (steam) generation and distribution equipment/vessels, operation of Utility Air Compressors, operation of Potable (Backup) Air Compressors, operation of Nitrogen plant, operation of Seawater Lift Pumps, operation of Cooling-water Circulation Pumps, operation of topside Hypochlorite Generator for marine growth control in the seawater handling flowlines; (3) High Pressure Gas Turbine Compressors & Aft Hull – startup, monitoring, shutdown and isolation of the Turbine-driven 4-stages centrifugal compressors when maintenance required, operation of Glycol Dehydration and Regeneration Units, managing Aft bilge, operation of Aft Hypochlorite Generator, operation of Aft Firewater Pumps and Foam Concentrate Pumps; (4) Wellstream Handling and Low Pressure Gas Depressurization also known as screw compressors – operation of Choke Valves and Manifold Operations, Test Separators, High Pressure Production Separators, Low Pressure Production Separators, Electrostatic Treater, Stabilizer, Stabilizer Reboiler, Crude Oil Cooler to cargo tank, Vapor Recovery Unit, Overhead Compressor, LP Compressor, Hydro cyclones, Flotation Cell to process tanks, Chemical Injection pumps; (5) Forward Hull – operation of Sewage Treatment Units, operation of Freshwater Makers, operation of Emergency & Essential Generators, operation of Forward Firewater and Foam Concentrate Pumps, bilge management.
Carry-out first-line equipment lubrication and basic maintenance.
Perform operation of complex equipment such as the Gas Turbine Compressors, Heat Medium Steam System, Pipeline pumps, etc. This includes lining up, isolating, starting-up, monitoring and shutting-down this type of equipment consistent with the safe working practices, procedures, company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Performs critical operations such as topping of turbine oil, monitoring generators and general operations of oil and gas equipment and facilities.
Raise Work Request – Work Order – and monitor its execution.
Site-check maintenance activities. This entails processing daily work permits for maintenance and other support work groups and fulfill role of Facility Site Reps to ensure work site is safe to work.
Maintains housekeeping in assigned area to promote a safe working environment.
Chemical Champion – saddled with timely weekly updates of Agbami FPSO Chemical Inventory and prepare and deliver Quarterly Agbami Chemical Inventory updates to NUPRC.
Observe HSE and OE regulations. Reports and or corrects any conditions and or practices out of compliance.
Team Member, 5% Permit-to-Work Audit.
Achieved the following: Consistently delivering the lowest possible BS&W of export crude oil whenever assigned Pumpman, thereby ensuring minimal slippage from the planned export volume and quality.
With team effort I was able to transfer load from one of the gas turbine compressors HPU to the production headers using hydraulic in order not to lose production or cause a facility shut down as either the back up HPU and VRC HPU weren’t working.
Spotted numerous gas leaks by means of seeing (the most obvious ones) and smelling/sniffing the fugitive ones and initiated the protocols for containment and subsequent repairs thereby saving the facility potential unscheduled shutdowns or fire incidents – worse case.
Cleared out blockage in Glycol Contactor dump valve, through backflushing with water, thereby assuring glycol circulation in the gas dehydration and glycol regeneration process, on request by Control Room Operator.
Cleared out liquid trapped in the impulse line of a gas pressure sensing PIT, following the draining of the flooded gas line, as requested by Control Room Operator.
Avails leadership the flexibility to be deployed to any zone of the facility for intervention.
All these efforts are geared towards sustaining the high daily oil production that Agbami FPSO is always known for judging from international standards.
