- Developing and updating of health promotion and community engagement strategy to align with current context (objectives, target population, key activities, indicators, results, monitoring, etc.).
- Performing qualitative assessments of knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to Lassa Fever in most affected Local Government Areas (LGAs) to gain comprehensive understanding of disease within community, including perceptions and current practices, and to align health promotion activities and key messages with findings.
- Daily follow-up and closer supportive supervision of HPCE activities with HP supervisor and PMR in all LGAs where MSF supports SmoH (State Ministry of Health) led Lassa Fever Response.
- Creating training plan, schedule, and materials for HPCE supervision team based on identified gaps in knowledge and skills during supportive supervision, with approval from PMR.
- Collaborating with medical and non medical team members as part of outreach and Rapid Response team during community outreach activities in hot spots.
- Preparing weekly and monthly situation reports regarding HPCE activities within community, transit centers, and LFTC.
- Collaborating with t State Ministry of Health regarding recruitment, reduction, and reallocation of community health workers (CHW) in community, transit centers, and LFTC to strengthen MSF action
- Engaging community leaders, including village elders and chiefs, as well as religious leaders such as Sheikh/Imams and Pastors, along with other influential figures like traditional healers, during health promotion activities in community and transit centers through regular monthly or quarterly review meetings and workshops.
