Promoting Accreditation for Community Health Services, PACS – implementation research project

  • Created linkage to fit-for-purpose digital solution providers and informal sector small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to address shortage of services in under-served community that resulted from product stock-out.
  • Led the launch of the 'Wema Bank-PACS Project Health Financing Facility for HSMEs' in Abuja on Monday, July 22, 2024.
  • This product, co-developed by the PACS project and Wema Bank, addresses the barriers of high interest rate and unattainable requirements that banks typically require from MSMEs to access loans.
  • With this product, Wema Bank has set aside two hundred million naira (NGN 200 million) to provide loans to HSMEs under the PACS project at an interest rate of 12% per annum.
  • Currently engaging with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Accelerator program for health financing microcredit facility for HSMEs that will fast-track increased quantity and quality of services for underserved community. This facility is negotiated at a 16% interest rate over a 3-year loan tenure.
  • Currently co-designing a value-chain financing model for the informal sector unbanked businesses in collaboration with value-chain aggregators, two commercial banks, and private entrepreneurs in Abuja, Lagos, and Kaduna, Nigeria.
  • Led collaboration with ImpactHER to mobilize resources to support women entrepreneurs in Lagos and Kaduna states.
  • Leading the generation of costed implementation plan, budget tracking, and strategic reporting.

  • Provided technical assistance to the State Primary Health Care Development Agency in the provision of quality care and quality improvement in 292 Primary Healthcare facilities by strengthening the capacity of 1,168 facility-level staff in the delivery of the basic minimum package of health services and improving compliance with the PHCUOR policy, resulting in the second (2nd) position for Abia state in the overall national assessment in 2019.
  • Led advocacy that approved the release of Naira 50,000,000 for the start of Abia State social health insurance scheme to enroll beneficiaries, render healthcare services, and manage claims.
  • Promoted social accountability in 292 political wards by strengthening 15 Civil Society Organizations, which resulted in local community ownership of health programs and social accountability.
  • Led analytics of subnational health budgets and social health insurance actuaries, resulting in increased budget releases and enrollment of beneficiaries that promoted health equity among community members.
