• Track delivery progress of shipments.
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.

• Establish and maintain communication with custom brokers, carriers, and others involved in shipping and delivery of merchandise.

• Completeness and documentation of both import and export shipments, and condition of shipments.
• Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions.
• Obtain prompt correspondence from field officers to keep track of job operations.
• Liaise with field officers to ensure processes are effective and adhered to.
• Direct and review work plan for assigned staff
• Ensure that all concerned parties work together to guarantee that shipments are packed, sent, and delivered promptly.
• Monitoring field agents for on-time clearance and loading
• Manage and update the transporters database.
• Negotiate contracts for transportation and handling costs with carriers.
• Maintain strong relationships with multiple carriers.
• Check transporters' safety rating and liability, and ensure it is of an acceptable standard.
• Ensure transporter is within return period as agreed on company/transporter contract.
• Identify and contact qualified carriers for freight services.

· Inspect loading operations.

· Inventory reconciliation.

· Check for delays and inconsistencies in offloading.

· Receive delivery documents from transporters and check thoroughly.

· Arrange appropriate packing, terrain, weight, nature, cost, and delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination

· Participate in setting transportation and service rates.

· Track and trace goods while en route to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary.

· Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements.

· Perform a comprehensive and fair performance evaluation of subordinate personnel's work experience

· Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work issues/problems

· Advise senior management of progress towards meeting objectives and, when necessary, develop strategies for necessary adjustments.

· Inspect terminal facilities and ensure their compliance with necessary safety rules.
