Certification exams are meant to validate the skills of the taker and they serve as a basis of showcasing the potential a taker possesses to potential employer. Prior to having my first international certification (in java) I was having very few call up for interviews in IT organizations. But that by the time I secured the first one. Certification exams are challenging and not surprisingly so; it is a thing of value. A thing of value should not come cheaply. The certifications exams really broadened my scope and cemented my understanding of fundamental concepts in sharper and deeper ways than it would have been without them. Both are computer based testing over the internet and before I went for each of them I ensured that I had prepared adequately by following the relevant syllabuses to the letter. On the long run they are both exciting experiences to have.
