undefinedCisco: Introduction to Cyber Security
I try to stay on top of the latest threats and security innovations by reading industry resources like The Hacker News, Krebs on Security, and cybersecurity on Reddit. I find blogs from companies like CrowdStrike, Sophos, and Palo Alto Networks give me insight on new attacker tools, vulnerabilities, and targeted threat intelligence.
Outside of timely threat reports, I read the SANS @RISK newsletter and MIT Technology Review articles covering security technology breakthroughs like blockchain applications for authentication and AI/ML algorithms in combating online fraud. I stay connected to major new software initiatives and updates from Microsoft and the Linux Foundation as well that will impact the future of security infrastructure and system design.
In terms of continuing education, I hold security certifications from Cisco and ISC2 Certified Cybersecurity which made me member of ISC2. I am currently completing the Google Cyber Security Professional Certificate through Coursera to strengthen my security foundations.
Moving forward, I am posed to engage in other relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA among others that will enhanced my skills in different areas of the ever changing cyber security field. i will continue exploring advanced certificate programs in Cyber Defense paths to continue adding credentials. I see reading and structured coursework as key to honing expertise over time to handle the dynamic challenges we face in information security.
