I learnt swimming after giving birth to my sixth child, year 2015. I could not believe I can achieve such a fit. I registered for the class with some of the colleagues in Access Bank. These colleagues were younger than I was. But I was determined to know how to swim. This burning ambition was born out of the fact that I take my children for swimming classes and the elder kids could swim. It became embarrassing that when I take them for vacations I take them to the pool, then I sit around the pool waiting for them to play in the water, sometimes swim for hours and then we go. This increased my mindset to learn swimming. I was so excited that I can swim breast stroke and free style. I truly appreciate the determination and I can do attitude. Today I am called "fish" anytime I go to swim. I always encourage women who could not swim but bring their children for swimming classes by telling them my story. It encourages quite a lot of women.
