Nnenna Elendu-Ukeje is a politician and was a three term member of the House of Representatives. She is an eloquent speaker blessed with excellent communication and analytical skills very much evident in her work.
After a stellar career in the private sector, she contested and won a seat into the House of Representatives in 2007. She was re-elected in 2011 and 2015.
A distinguished lawmaker, Nnenna is a major advocate for good governance and upholding democratic ideals. A champion of respect for and improved welfare for men and women of the Armed Forces, increased funding for the military as well as veteran’s welfare.

She was fanatical about her bill on the establishment of a Commission to tackle the proliferation of small arms and light weapons; a bill she championed for 8 years. Unfortunately, it was never signed into law having passed through all legislative processes. The effects of the absence of that Commission are now upon us as Nigeria battles insecurity on an existential basis.
The same passion for security and conflict resolution led her to pursue a course in Security and Terrorism studies at the prestigious George C Marshall, European center for Security Studies gamrmisch-partenkirchen Germany.

SECURITY • Authored a bill to establish a National Commission (NATCOM) against the proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NATCOM BILL 2013). This bill helped create the Presidential Committee (PRESCOM) which has been in existence since 2014. • A leading voice in improving the conditions of Nigerian war veterans through the establishment of military veteran commission. • An Advocate for the establishment of the military trust funds to provide alternative means funding for the Nigerian military. This bill was promoted upon the conviction that you only get the military you pay for and might is right in international politics.
