Job Summary: Carry out safe and proactive monitoring, condition analysis, diagnosis, and maintenance (preventive and corrective) of various Electrical Safety Critical Equipment at Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Gbaran-Ubie Integrated Oil and Gas/ Kolo-creek Facility. These includes Earthing and Lightning System, Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG's), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Explosion Proof Junction Boxes, Fire Water Systems, etc.

Duties

  • Implement and track weekly, monthly, and yearly preventive maintenance plans on designated electrical equipment including Motors, Transformers, Generators, Switchboards, AC and DC UPSs, Distribution Boards, Lighting Fittings, Batteries (including battery revamping), Earthing and Lightning Protection systems.
  • Provide technical support as Authorized Electrical Personnel for applying and removing Electrical Isolations as required during routine and troubleshooting activities.
  • Provide Safety Leadership for assigned activities for team, by functioning as Permit Holder, E-Vision Authorized Party, etc. to ensure culture of safety compliance.
  • Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems.
  • Proficient in planning, scheduling and execution of preventive maintenance using relevant Enterprise Management Software such as SAP.
  • Raise Z1 Notification for corrective maintenance, Identify and secure required resources (materials and other service requirements) for job assignments.
  • Double acting as production Work Preparer/ Maintenance Executor for electrical maintenance team.
  • Participates in electrical equipment failure investigation and analyses using techniques such as RCA, Causal Learning, Bow-Tie analysis.

    • Power optimization project from SPDC Gbaran FLB to Gbaran JTF camp in January 2015 and achieved cost savings of approximately $2.3m.

    • Project execution for power optimization from Etelebou manifold to Etelebou Flow Station (SPDC) in 2017 and achieved savings of circa $215,000 per year on diesel consumption and maintenance costs.

    • Power optimization project from SPDC GBU CPF to EPF in 2018.

    • Supported work execution and commission of DIY initiative to re-route EPF 11KV HV power supply cable from SB130C1 to SB190C1, eliminating threat to EPF plant availability (25MMfcd DOMGAS production) from regular power outages from community blown fuses. (2019).
