- Built a Node.js micro-service with typescript that improved the average disbursement time for a returning and new customer by automating our statement parsing process for deciding on a high and low offer estimation and funds disbursals which gives us our current bragging right of "The fastest lending platform".
- Worked in a team of 6 engineers to break down the initial monolith application to micro-service while implementing an effective software design and architecture such as enhanced service communication using Pub/Subs, centralised logging using ELK (Elastic Kibana), Winston, service base template, reusable types repo, dockerized applications, automated the CI/CD setup using GCP services such cloud build, cloud run, container registry and Docker which helped to reduce development and deployment time.
- Improved user repayment experience and average disbursement time up to 75%, by implementing auto disbursal and auto reconciliation which utilized webhooks and pub subs for instant notifications, payment recording, and loan disbursals.
- In a team of 4 backend engineers the entire system database was Migrated across the 15 microservices from Firebase Firestore to PostgreSQL which improve system and software development speed as we quickly ran out of complex indexes.
- Handled Compute intensive processing and verification in Python using FastAPI as backend framework, AWS Rekognition for id verification and AWS Textract, SNS, and S3 for parsing bank statements from over 40+ verified banks in Africa
