  • Plan and execute well abandonment preparatory work including translation of abandonment design into an approved program of execution along with detailed engineering procedures.
  • Engineering standardization, quality assurance, benchmarking and drilling engineering performance management.
  • Engineering of Drilling solutions on a well by well basis to optimize structural well integrity and delivery.
  • Preparation of Drilling Tender Documents – Technical specification, Scope of work (SOW), Invitation to Tender (ITT) and Pre-Qualification (PQ) documents.
  • Preparation of Drilling AFE and Drilling Budget alignment reviews.
  • Preparing cost estimates and assessing risk in terms of probability and recommending potential mitigations.
  • Participate in Rig selection and follow up on Rig modifications and interface necessary for Drilling activities on a well by well or specific drilling campaign basis.
  • Perform Risk Analysis on all stages/phases of drilling operations to ensure uncompromised safety of lives, environment and equipment.
  • Monitoring of contractors working for Well Operations Department to ensure compliance to Company’s HSE policies and international safety culture and standards.
  • Work with other related teams/departments (Geology, Exploration, Subsea, Reservoir, Production etc.) to ensure oil, gas and injection wells are drilled to meet production targets.
  • Technical studies to identify most appropriate drilling solutions for both exploration and development wells.
  • Assurance of the technical integrity of operations and compliance with in-country law, corporate policy, international standards and guidelines.
  • Administration of contracts to deliver drilling operations and identification of future contract requirements.
  • Continuous identification and application of value adding, innovative and new technologies geared towards optimizing drilling operations thereby saving time and cost without compromising safety.

Examples are Drilling program for Abo-4ST, Abo-3ST1 & ST2, Abo 12 dir., Abo 4ST Bis and Abo 10ST wells which where all drilled in Abo field offshore Nigeria with Semi-sub rigs (Sedco Express and GSF 135) and Drillship (West Polaris, SAIPEM 10K and Pacific Bora).
