- I was responsible for the overall availability of 2g, 3g and 4g RF network services for Globacom in Central Abuja.
- In providing 99.9% network availability for Nigeria’s seat of power, I managed active and passive energy infrastructure, which included electromechanical generators, UPS systems, rectifiers, transformers, circuit breakers and solar panels.
- I also managed security issues, microwave transmission network, metro and backbone optic fiber networks, IP/MPLS, Core Network Subsystem with 3 MSCs in pool, RF planning and optimization and power systems.
- It was my responsibility to undertake community engagements as it related to Globacom infrastructure and network in Abuja.
- I made detailed yearly proposal to HQ in Lagos on how to allocate the CAPEX budget for Abuja.
- It was my responsibility to ensure timely delivery of the 4g roll out project in Abuja, giving project milestone reports to the GM.
- I managed GSM, WCDMA and 4G LTE networks that daily churned out about 53,000erl in voice traffic, and 9TB in data traffic in Abuja, Nigeria.
- I managed MSCs, which terminated calls averaging over 1.2m busy hour call attempts.
- I managed a network that had two Call Servers, five media gateways, four radio network Controllers, two BSCs, two MFS, 100 4G LTE, 128 2g base stations, 127 3G WCDMA facilities collocated with the 2g sites, IP/MPLS Routers and several IP and STM microwave transmission links, among others.
- It was my responsibility to plan the OPEX for Abuja Central technical department and to ensure appropriate allocation of same to Unit Managers and others for effective operation.

- I performed acceptance tests on Alcatel Base Transceiver Stations, 3G Node B, PDH microwave links, Alcatel ranges of ADM and different specifications of Alcatel SDH Radio Regenerators with Alcatel engineers.
- I created transmission pathway for customers, and made the necessary connections at customers’ premises for leased circuits from Globacom between Abuja and Kano, and between Abuja and Lagos.
- I performed migration of Base Transceiver Station sites from one BSC to another in Abuja region view to optimising hand over efficiency and improving network quality.
- I monitored the Received Signal Levels on all the Radio SDH backbones and PDH links in Abuja region; I align shifted links with rigger assistance so as to reduce call drops and improve call quality on the network.
- I performed upgrades on PDH microwave links, Base transceiver stations and Base Station Controller Atermux.
- I monitored the traffic situation of Abuja sites from the OMC-R, so as to determine frozen equipment i.e. those that though not faulty, but are not carrying traffic.
- I also checked the Abuja downgraded sites on the OMC-R terminal.
- I also performed some operation and maintenance functions on the Alcatel G2 BSC, which include restoration of supervision to the BSC, checking the status of cards on the BSC and replacing faulty cards.
- I used equipment such as Analyzer (Bit Error tester), Site master, and RF Power meter to carry out tests such as sweep test, testing transmission link quality, output power measurement of transceivers etc.
- I used Earth tester to measure earth resistivity of our sites in order to preempt potential damage to equipment by lightning.
