Safety and security
I am a retired Master Warrant Officer in the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps and currently the UNDSS FSA working in Damasak, Borno NEA, Nigeria. I am motivated to work for the United Nations. I have 31 years of supervisory experience in security and military duties, including collecting, storing, processing, and disseminating sensitive and classified security information. I also have extensive experience in the protection of High-Profile Individuals. My current work in Damasak involves ensuring the safety and security of UN personnel, assets, and programs. During my career in the UN, I have managed security incidents and provided required assistance for the successful relocation of all Staff members from Damasak to Maiduguri because of the BH-ISWAP attacks in April 2021. I also provided support for the successful resumption of humanitarian operations including the re-opening of the humanitarian hub in Damasak on 9 February 2022.
Another achievement in the military, I have worked in sensitive offices and units, thereby, making me familiar with the handling of classified materials and at the same time recognizing the importance of timely dissemination of accurate security- related information to decision-makers. I worked at Headquarters 5 Nigerian Army Intelligence Group, Lagos from 1989 to 1994 as a military Intelligence Operative. I worked at the Presidential Villa Abuja from 1994 to 2000 as a Presidential bodyguard, where I was exposed to several aspects of security duties, including, VIP protection, conference security, security screening of visitors, and issuing of identity cards as well as premises security. I also believe that I have the required qualifications to function effectively as a Field Security Associate in Tehran, Iran (FSA), having worked and manage as an Intelligence Operative, Special Forces, and Bodyguard.
