Summary

Grace a development worker has a wide range of experience working with NGOs especially women’s groups at international, national and grass root levels. She has experience in the area of women’s human rights, women access to justice, women political participation, child rights, gender, peace building and constitutionalism. Grace who is a pioneer staff rose to the post of the Executive Director of the Cece Yara Foundation where she is responsible for coordinating the foundation’s project development and programs. Her role involves monitoring program activities, supporting the development and implementation of the Foundation’s Child Sexual Abuse Prevention framework.

Before now, she worked as the Director, Gender and Legal Aid with Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC) Nigeria, coordinating the women access to justice and the women and peace building projects. Her work involved providing legal counsel and pro bono services for women and girls who have suffered human rights abuses. Prior to her work with WARDC, Grace was State Counsel at the Osun State Ministry of Justice.

Grace holds an LL.B from Obafemi Awolowo University. She was called to the Nigeria Bar in 2000. She is a Fellow with PILnet Global Network for Public Interest, New York and an Alumnus of the United State International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). She is Darkness to Light Stewards (USA) of Children of Children and Facilitator. She belongs to several networks advocating for the elimination of all form of violence against women and children.

  • Successfully established the first 24 toll free child Helpline manned by multi-lingual Counsellors in Nigeria.
