  • As the Scientific Officer, I am responsible for all internship students who are on placement in the laboratory. My duty includes; Giving orientation to new students, supervising their day-to-day activities to ensure they understand what is done in the various laboratories, organizing trainings to teach them how to collect samples, give/write a report at the end of their internship period to their schools on their performance and signing their Log book.
  • Brief description of organization; Federal Medical Centres (FMCs), were established Nationwide in Nigeria in states that do not have Federal University Teaching Hospitals present. FMC Taraba state is located in Jalingo, the state capital.
  • They are tertiary healthcare providers that cater for special health care needs that cannot be handled by the primary and secondary health care institutions in the state.

  • Brief description of one main achievement accomplished within the network/organization; We were all grouped per local government; I was opportune to be the team lead of five enumerators for Jalingo LGA with 5 communities to cover. We were given a contract of 18 days to get data from farmers, youths and agri-business owners with a target of 1050. We worked intensely as a team and sometimes even stayed in some communities till dawn just to attain our target. With just seven days into the survey, we surpassed our target by reaching 2090 surveys, I personally did over 1300 surveys and since we had more time we added one more community because those areas were grossly populated with farmers and that was what the project needed.

She supports all efforts at ensuring a dignified access to care for these persons through an integrated approach, linking them to access to nutrition, healthcare and livelihood services.
  • Brief description of one main achievement you accomplished within the network/organization; Through PUI’s community interventions, more than 208,000 individuals were reached with community health awareness messages. 60% were females while 40% were males. Following and end-line survey, 95% of the targeted beneficiaries shows and improved health practices through the project intervention.
