  • Monitored the Kongsberg - K Chief for machinery functionality from the Engine Control Room (ECR) and ensured smooth operations of the main generator engines, comprising 6x Wartsila 16v32 (7200kw) and a CAT Generator. My diligent maintenance included monitoring lube oil sump levels, bearing temperatures, DE and NDE bearings' conditions, and lube oil and Diesel Oil purifier statuses. I consistently exceeded service and quality standards in machinery maintenance during review periods.
  • Demonstrated a strong technical understanding and adherence to safety regulations and company procedures, ensuring that all operations were conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Responsible for monitoring electrical motors on mechanical rotating equipment like the dampers, supply fans, exhaust fans, pumps, compressors and lifting equipment in the engine room and rig floor.
  • Actively monitored and maintained Knuckle boom cranes and Lattice cranes on the rig, regularly changing hydraulic oil and filters in the HPU, monitoring the winches gearbox and cables, and ensuring the accumulators were always charged to the proper pressure. Carrying out checks on the slew, boom, and safety brakes of the crane.
  • Conducted daily inspections and maintenance of the HVAC system on the drillship, monitoring the Air Handling Units (AHU) for quality air intake and return. Ensuring that the settings match requirements and that the refrigerant and oil level keeps the unit running at optimum.
  • Ensured functional and well-calibrated static equipment, valves (PRV, safety valves, solenoid valves, air-operated valves), heat exchangers, hydrophores, pressure tanks, various storage tanks and piping among others.
  • Operated and carried out service/repairs on Alfa Laval fresh Water maker (3) (Evaporator) and Parker Reverse Osmosis water maker (2) units, producing a consistent and sufficient supply of potable water. I carried out maintenance on the evaporator plates, water ejectors, membranes and replace the 5- and 20-micron filters.
  • Kept inventories of lube, grease, chemicals, and tools, maintaining proper records of stock, and updating the Lube chart and SDS directory on the CMMS.
  • Skilled in lining up valves for various fluid transfers and control using the facility's PID.
  • Mentored and trained technicians in carrying out required tasks and services on the facility while working under senior engineers' directives.
  • Utilized the PTW and CMSS systems to carry out all tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Performed routine servicing and maintenance of various types of pumps found in the engine room, which includes Sea Water Centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps for bilge transfer, screw pumps of the rig air compressor, vacuum pumps for the accommodation sewage system as well as the screw pumps found on the main engine. Others include use of diaphragm pumps, barrel pumps and other axial pumps for fuel and freshwater transfer.
