COMMUNITY SERVICES
My volunteering to community based project development, span over 15years. i Combined career experience & part time volunteering to humanity locally.
In 2017, I volunteered as the production manager for a short film titled APES OBEY, a campaign against jungle justice in Nigeria and Africa. The campaign resonated with me, as a way to sensitize the people about respect for human life, since then a bill has been passed to criminalize jungle justice.
Also was I part of the Proudly Nigerian Campaign volunteer team, a private sector initiative aimed at rebranding the perceived negative image of the country, celebrate the achievements of Nigerians that have excelled and are making positive strides in their endeavors, elicit pride in resourceful Nigerians, and encourage patronage of Nigerian products and services. I was a proud member of the team that spearheaded the campaign as a non-governmental mission, to project Nigeria and the Nigerians citizens as reliable Brands, generating positive information and image about the negatively perceived Nigeria as a whole and thereby portray the country as investment friendly.
I was the assistant team lead and was involved from conceptualization stage to final project execution; my experience during the tour of different states of the federation, engaging stakeholders on this rebranding exercise opened my eyes to the level of hunger and deprivation amongst the inhabitants of most remote communities. This reaffirmed my decision to practically give in my best professionally into volunteering and actively engage in activities that will help better humanity. Thus, community based outreaches for medicals; food distributions to alleviate hunger, basic hygiene campaign, quality education for the girl child and kids generally, campaign against drugs are few of the roles I have volunteered to achieve through different NGOs in time past.
My field of study as a Business Administration & Logistics Specialist was pivotal & key component of project execution in my various assignments. As I was a logistics and community engagement volunteer with Slum2School, a volunteer driven NGO with the purpose of providing quality education to children living in slums and remote communities of West Africa.
I also was in charge of youth mobilization and strategic planning with Singles Palace Initiative, an NGO with the focus of grooming youths to stay out of drugs, be role models of their communities and embrace education and skills development. It also was responsible for periodic community cleanings to teach youths on the need to keep their environment clean, to avoid disease infested waters.
I am currently the Head of logistics and planning department for Community Compassion Initiative (CCI), a community-based NGO that seeks to alleviate the welfare, education and health care needs of indigent people. It’s my responsibility to scout for most vulnerable communities that need assistance, through a series of meetings with community heads and stakeholders, and then prepare a proposal to the board for financial approval towards assistance to that community. My team is responsible for planning and seamless execution of the projects. This position earned me overall BEST Volunteer Award 2021. To this regards, a Business Administration advancement course is inevitable so as to do more.
I am part of the logistics team that plan the strategic movement and execution for projects with Lagos Food Bank, an NGO set out to tackle malnutrition and food insecurity in under developed parts of the society by providing periodic food and means of sustenance to inhabitants. We also provide jobs placements to the unemployed within such communities and water projects to inhabitants.
I am also volunteering with Trem Community Development & Trem Young Men Christian Fellowship, an arm of the church saddled with charity to humanity. The goal is not just impacting the community with the WORD of GOD but taking positive practical steps to touch lives medically, feehunindigenthunger, clothe the down trodden, periodically visit the prisons, old people’s homes, motherless babies homes with arms and service volunteer. These services have I efficiently handled with zealous dedication over time with a Meritorious Service Award to show for it.
