I am writing to apply for the position of RMNCH Program Director. I am very confident that my over 10 years of solid progressive experience and diverse capabilities in the areas of Reproductive Maternal and Child Health, comprehensive HIV implementation of projects, Family Planning, Reproductive Health- HIV integration and malaria project implementation and management make me an ideal candidate to successfully fulfill this position. Please find below my CV. I am a diligent, hardworking goal getter health professional who will ensure that Jhpiego RMNCH goals and objectives are constantly and consistently met. I currently lead the BMGF ARC project and the recently concluded TA Connect Group ANC project for Jhpiego. I have worked in other world class NGOs across donor agencies like USAID, BMGF, TA Connect, CHAI and MSD for Mothers with demonstrable successes. I have the experience in processes involved in the development and management of RMNCH programs having worked in senior positions in Jhpiego, FHI360 and Pathfinder International during the RH/HIV integration and Saving Mothers Giving Lives Project respectively. I also provided technical assistance to the Cross river state project team in implementing the task shifting policy ensuring that CHEWs in Cross river state provide LARCs thereby improving access, provided technical assistance to the CRPHCDA to develop a multiyear budget and operational plan and working closely with the PHCs and Ward Development Committee developed a community driven emergency transport service to ensure every pregnant woman has prompt access to transport services in case of obstetric emergency. During my time in FHI360 I actively contributed in SIDHAS project meeting their retention targets during the EPIC TQLA SURGE project in 2020, commenced and led the team in the implementation of 90:90:90 in five priority LGAs in Cross river state with great success in 2015. I also led the FHI360 decentralized office as technical lead overseeing five LGAs in Northern Cross river state. I was commended by my manager for demonstrating strong skills in: proactively managing important and time-sensitive projects, keeping to timelines in reports, fund requests and ensuring more than 95% of positive women commenced on ARVs developing innovative solutions to critical problems; balancing stakeholder expectations with those of the organization; and working collaboratively with other team members to establish an efficient and effective systems of operation. In my time at Jhpiego, Pathfinder International and FHI360, I was noted for having achieved the following: Currently leading the $2M BMGF Antenatal Postnatal Research Collective project for Jhpiego, generating evidence across studies in Kano, Nasarawa and Bauchi. Led the $1.3M BMGF grant to scale up Group ANC with demonstrable successes in Nasarawa state, putting over 38k women into cohorts in less than 2 years across. In Pathfinder International Executing together with the State Program Manager at the state level number of highly profile projects with budgets exceeding $7,000,000 per annum. Project lead in institutionalizing the Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response intervention in Cross river state which led to an improvement in MNCH indices. Working with my team developed a quality improvement monitoring tool and mentorship app which incorporates, FP, PPFP, PAC, MNH etc to ensure standards of care are kept. Inserting strategies in annual workplans for FY15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 which led to high quality project implementation. Developed and set up strategies to exceed the project goals of reduction in maternal and perinatal mortality by 35% and 20% respectively while also improving contraceptive prevalence rate. Increased institutional deliveries by 20% from baseline health facility assessment carried out in supported facilities in Cross river state. Writing high quality reports periodically to funders. Furthermore, I have strong academic background to ground my work. After completing my MBBS at the Abia State University of Uturu, Abia state, I realized that my passion was population based healthcare, and Primary Health Care where interventions would touch the lives of more people. I went on to complete my MSC Public health in the world renowned London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and also bagged a Diploma of Public Health in the same school. I went on to study more certificate courses from the University of Washington and several online courses in the e- learning USAID platform. I plan to draw on these vast experiences methodologies at other organizations to improve RMNCH programs in Jhpiego.
