Ebenezer Ugo Akachukwu

Ebenezer Ugo Akachukwu is a Nigerian music executive, entrepreneur and technology professional whose career has been defined by his work at the intersection of music, technology and business.

With over a decade of experience in the music industry, Ebenezer has built a career around creating structures that help artists, labels and other rights holders navigate an increasingly digital and global music ecosystem.

He was part of the founding team of Freeme Digital, one of Nigeria’s early digital music distribution companies, where he developed experience across music business administration, digital distribution, A&R and label services. His work at Freeme gave him an early understanding of the infrastructure required to take Nigerian music from the local market to global audiences.

He subsequently explored roles A&R roles at Sony Music West Africa, EMPIRE Publishing, in addition to leading Label Operations for DB Records, Dbanj’s record label, thus gaining experience on the major-label side of the business and contributing to the development of relationships and deals involving some of Nigeria’s leading artists. His career has therefore given him exposure to different sides of the music business — from independent distribution and artist development to major-label operations.

Ebenezer later founded Label Dots Music, a label and artist services company established to help creatives navigate the increasingly complex music business. Through Label Dots, he worked across A&R, digital distribution, marketing, content and rights management, while also facilitating relationships between African music professionals and international music companies. The company has been involved in A&R and publishing administration deals for Nigerian producers and artists, further reflecting Akachukwu’s focus on connecting African talent and intellectual property to global opportunities.
