I. Evaluation of Patients with Undiagnosed and Undifferentiated Presentations which include:

• Presentations with general, non-specific symptoms (e.g. Fever, weight loss, fatigue)
• Presentations with pain (e.g. chest pain, abdominal pain, headache, back pain, joint pain)
• Presentations with selected organ/system symptoms Examples include: Respiratory: (dyspnea, cough, pleural effusion)
• Gastrointestinal e.g. (GI bleeding, abnormal liver enzymes, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, ascites)
• Neurologic e.g. (change in mental status, focal findings suggestive of stroke, sleep related complaints)
• Cardiovascular e.g. (hypotension, palpitations, syncope)
• Hematologic e.g. (anemia, coagulopathy)
• Oncologic (common presentations of neoplastic disease)
• Renal (dysuria, hematuria, acute renal failure, abnormal fluid and electrolytes)
• Rheumatologic (mono articular joint pain and /or swelling, poly articular joint pain and/or swelling)
• Dermatologic e.g. (rash, common skin lesions)
• Presentations related to specific patient populations
• Women’s health issues (breast mass, pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, amenorrhea, galactorrhea, vaginal discharge)
• Men’s health issues (complaints related to prostatic disease, erectile dysfunction)
• Geriatric issues (elder abuse or neglect, mental status changes, falls, urinary incontinence, failure to thrive)
• Patients with substance addiction (symptoms of alcohol or drug addiction, symptoms of withdrawal)
• Presentations with multisystem clinical problems

II. Management of Common Medical Conditions which include:

• Cardiovascular: Common cardiac arrhythmias, Congestive, heart failure, Coronary artery disease
• Endocrine: Type 2 diabetes, Osteoporosis, Thyroid disorders, Adrenal insufficiency
• Gastrointestinal: Acid peptic disease, Functional bowel disease, Chronic liver disease and management of its complications
• General Medical Conditions: Hypertension, Lipid disorders, Obesity, Urinary tract infection, Pneumonia, Medical care in pregnancy
• Hematologic/Oncologic: Venous thrombosis, Common anemia
• Infectious Diseases: Immune-compromise (treatment-induced or disease-induced, including HIV), Nosocomial infection, Sepsis, Common sexually transmitted diseases
• Neurologic: Radiculopathy, Stroke, Dementia
• Psychiatric: Anxiety, Depression, Substance abuse (alcohol, tobacco, drugs)
• Pulmonary: Asthma, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
• Renal: Mild renal insufficiency, Nephrolithiasis, Acid-base and electrolyte disorders
• Rheumatologic: Gout, Osteoarthritis, Inflammatory arthritis, Regional periarticular pain syndromes (bursitis, tendonitis)
• Allergic: Allergic rhinitis, Drug allergy
• Genitourinary: Benign prostatic hypertrophy, Urinary incontinence
• Basic Preventive Care such as: Cancer screening recommendations, Non-cancer screening recommendations, Vaccination, Risk factor reduction, Chemoprevention (e.g Aspirin, calcium), Screening for common problems among older patients(e.g Cognitive impairment, depression, functional impairment, falls/gait instability, incontinence)
• Monitoring of patient progress and adjustment of treatments accordingly.
• Ensure improved patient outcomes by implementing evidence-based medical practices and protocols.
• Review complex cases alongside colleagues during peer consultations to develop consensus on appropriate courses of action especially in management of complex cases.

• Paediatric Emergency Triage and Treatment
• Attending to in-patients and out-patients
• Diagnosis of medical conditions in adult and children patients
• Management of Medical Conditions
• Setting of IV line
• Prescription of drugs
• And any other assigned duties
• Assisted senior physicians and surgeons during assessments, examinations and surgical interventions.
• Improved patient outcomes and delivery of care through improved clinical quality processes.
• Enhanced patient satisfaction with thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Managed emergency medical situations, providing immediate care and stabilizing patients for further treatment.
