• I stood in for the State WHO Surveillance Officer from February to August 2003 to bridge the surveillance gaps in the state in my capacity as Deputy State Epidemiologist in charge of Disease Surveillance and Notification, State Ministry of Health, Bauchi, Nigeria, until the appointment of the new WHO Surveillance Officer, Dr. Nuhu Barau Ningi (I served for seven months as a volunteer).
