  • In my role, i have extensive experience with Laboratory Information System to accurately receive histology samples. this process is very essential to ensure that each sample is accompanied by the correct patient name, laboratory number, date and the tissues been properly fixed with the appropriate fixative. This meticulous attention to detail at the initial stage helps in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of subsequent analyses
  • Experience in grossing various pathological samples, including appendices, uterine fibroid mastectomy samples etc. my roles involves not only on grossing of these but also providing valuable assistance to the pathologist during cut up. This collaborative effort ensures accurate and efficient processing of specimen, contributing to the effective diagnostic outcomes.
  • proficiency with the Leica tissue processor, to process tissue effectively, applying the proper concentration of alcohol to preserve tissue morphology. this ensures that samples are in optimal condition for further procedures
  • Good knowledge of embedding techniques,crucial for making sure that the tissue are well-exposed and suitably positioned for sectioning.
  • advanced use of Microtome to produce thin, precise sections necessary for high quality microscopic examination.
  • Understanding of staining methods such as H&E, IHC and specialized stains, in highlighting the cellular and tissue structure. mount stained sections on glass slides for microscopic examination
  • Proper storage of paraffin tissue blocks crucial for maintaining sample integrity and enabling accurate future analyses.
