• Performing clinical chemistry, haematological, immunological and microbiological diagnostic analyses on body fluids such as blood, urine, sputum, stool, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), as well as other specimens.
• Supervises other Laboratory staff to ensure adherence to organizational goals and regulatory standards.
• Coordinating, reviewing and monitoring of the laboratory internal and external quality assurance process.
• Coordinates the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to strengthen staff, patient and community safety and reduce healthcare-associated infections.
• Contributes to laboratory ISO 15189 readiness through development of quality documents, routine quality audits, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) follow-up, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Contributes to ISO 9001:2015 compliance by conducting internal audits, driving CAPA implementation, and strengthening quality management processes.
• Calibration, verification, internal quality control and maintaining lab equipment.
• Performs and analyses interlaboratory controls and international external quality assurance (EQA) which includes QCnet by BioRad.
• Ensuring availability and adequate inventory of Laboratory reagents.
• Communicating laboratory results to the physician by posting the results on EMR or writing the results on the laboratory result form as appropriate.
• Identifying and communicating abnormal patient results by alerting supervisory personnel, the patient’s physician and contact the patient.
• Contributes to the production and updating of laboratory documentations, particularly relating to policies and standard operating procedures.
• Maintaining quality results by running standards and quality controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting; calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitoring quality control measures and protocols.
• Contributed in strengthening patient care through review of reference ranges that has resulted in better diagnosis, management and awareness such as in Diabetes and Prediabetes diagnosis.
• Continuous review of processes to identify operational gaps and implement innovative solutions that improved laboratory efficiency, improve turnaround time, diagnostic quality, cost-effectiveness, customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
• Ensuring the services are provided in an accurate, efficient, timely and cost-effective manner.
• Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures.
