- Company Overview: NAFRC Medical Centre is a busy military Medical Center that has approximately 300 beds includes HIV/AID and cardiac centre
- Our sonography department has two ultrasound rooms provides ultrasound for out-patients, in-patients and emergency
- Serving approximately 25 patients per day
- Provide professional sonography and care to high-risk populations and complex multiple pregnancies
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound and write detailed reports for a variety of scan types including abdomen/renal, obstetric/gynae, prostate/bladder, small parts and musculoskeletal
- Assists the Radiologist with procedures such as corticosteroid and platelet-rich plasma injections by doing a pre scan and assisting with sterile technique for the injection
- Routinely undertake 20-30 examinations per day with a typical day including 30% abdominal, 40% OB/gyne, 15% vascular and 15% small part
- Prepare accurate and detailed preliminary report for the supervising Radiologist
- Ensuring the correct images and paperwork are uploaded to PACS
- Involved with interventional procedure such as liver, kidney and prostate biopsies, joint injections and fine needle aspiration as well as assisting in intra-operative ultrasound and contrast enhanced ultrasound with ultrasound
- Participate in quality control within the department
- Participate in protocols and implementation of contrast ultrasound
- Active in departmental research projects within the clinic in conjunction with Dr Bako Airforce Hospital in Lagos Nigerian
- Attend weekly departmental meeting to review patient scans, discuss techniques equipment and protocols
- Equipment used sonoscope SS1-6000, 3D/4D mindray 4D ultrasound machine Dc-40
