Government Stakeholder Consultant - NLDP

National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA)- Result For Development, USA
  • I was a liaison between the NHIA and the R4D on the NLDP project to drive the implementation of the NLDP, primarily by overseeing the design, framework, and execution of the subsequent (second ) phase of the project
  • My focus was on identifying the gaps in the implementation document between the initial phase and the current phase, deploy project management tools to fulfil the project goal of promoting organizational growth and enhancing capacity within a Nigerian public sector institution
  • The key facets of my contributions in this capacity included: Gap Analysis between the initial phase and the current phase of the project and its implementation document that would inform the next phase of the project, Development of the version II document of the Implementation plan of the project, Introduction of a work collaborative tool to track work done, persons responsible and timelines, Development of a monitoring and evaluation framework including all its component (Inputs, Outputs, Outcomes, Impact, Overall goal and objectives) for the project, Development of a Theory of Change (TOC) for the project, Reports generation, and Project Management.

National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA)
  • As a Manager, I collaborated with teams in my section to set criteria for quality assurance to accredit, inspect and monitor health care facilities (HCF) and Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) in Nigeria
  • I was in sole charge of the HMO and HCF database
  • I was a key player in several stakeholder engagements organized by the department and I provided supervision for reports generated by team members
  • Key roles were: Co-developed criteria for Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) accreditation and conducted field exercise to identify Primary Healthcare (PHCs) that met the defined criteria to support the roll out of BHCPF, Documentation of Health Maintenance Organizations registered with the National Health Insurance Scheme and periodically updated the database to reflect changes and reduce errors, improving enrollee experience with National Health Insurance, and Conduct biennial accreditation of HMOs and HCFs enrolled and facilitate quality assessment to ensure that they align with standard practices using set criteria.

  • I coordinated the research team that carried out a desk review to identify local challenges in some key sectors (Education, Employment, Food, Health, Climate change & environment) in 6 states from the 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria
  • States include Adamawa, Edo, Enugu, Kwara, Kaduna, and Osun states
  • This research culminated in a Challenge Brief
  • Project Title – Research: Access to safe and adequate water supply in Sub-Sahara Africa (Implemented by the NINE team, funded by Acts Foundation)
  • I co-led the research team that conducted a mixed study to identify the access to safe and adequate water supply in some countries in Sub- Saharan Africa
  • The countries include Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Botswana, South Africa and Ghana
  • This findings of this study was submitted to ACTS Foundation
  • Project Title – Research: Adopting flexible Business Models that Leverage on Key enabling Regulations to improve Electricity Supply from Renewables in Nigeria: A Feasibility Study of Nigeria Renewable energy market’ (2022), funded by Rural Electrification Agency, FCT, Abuja
  • I coordinated the research team that conducted a mixed study to identify sustainable business models for renewable energy among some its users
  • Sellers as well as users were interviewed, report was compiled and findings were submitted to the Rural Electrification Agency
  • Project Title - Stakeholder Event organization and coordination: Post CoP27 Dialogue session for United Kingdom Government (FCDO)
  • Directed the team to organize the Breakfast launch for CoP27
  • The aim of the Breakfast Launch was to gather stakeholders in the public, private and development organizations with a focus on lessons learned and deliberate on how to make the best CoP27 deliberations
  • Focal organizations was the Federal Ministy of Environment (Department of Climate Change, DCC)
  • Project Title - Stakeholder Event organization and coordination: Tree planting event planning and Project Coordination in Lagos for the United Kingdom Government
  • The aim of the tree-planting event was to support the Lagos state fight against climate change by increasing the number of trees in communities to improve environmental sustainability in accordance with the UK Climate Diplomacy Objectives

Accomplishments

  • Led a Digital economy team to implement the project goal from the project initiation phase to project close. The Digital economy project was funded by an International organization and it sought to identify local challenges as well as social entrepreneurs solving those problems digitally in order to increase access to food, education, employment , health and climate change in Nigeria. I led the team through the entire project cycle using project tools ( project kick off meetings, stakeholder clarification meetings, scope development, work plan, work breakdown, communications matrix, stakeholder matrix, etc) and general coordination to conduct a research, develop the website, (www.sidenigeria.com) announce call for entry , facilitate masterclass sessions and acceleration program and finally organize a Demo day.This project was for one (1) year., 01/01/YY - 12/31/YY
  • Collaborated with a communications and media organization to implement a project for an international NGO whose project goal was to support Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) that are working with marginalized and vulnerable groups ( People living with disabilities (Pwds), the Youths, the Elderly, and women &children) in the society. I led the development team to develop the website that will enable the CSOs (grantees) amplify their work with the identified marginalized groups. To achieve this, I gathered the requirement for the website, wrote user stories and acceptance criteria and eventually prioritized using MoSCoW.   • Led a a project team as a Business Analyst to develop a web-based application otherwise known as a Personnel Management System (PMS) .   • Liaison personnel for the execution of the NHIA Leadership Development program (NLDP) were the overall objective of the project was to equip NHIA staff members with knowledge areas that would lead to achievement of the organizational goals through comprehensive capacity building of its staff members. There were collaborations with academic institutions to develop modules on relevant topics and such institutions were University of Nigeria UNN, Ahmadu Bello University, SPARC Kenya and Lagos Business School. In developing the implementation blueprint, I carried out a gap analysis to create a version II of the implementation plan for the NLDP project. I developed a mid -project scope document to re-align the project goals. Lastly, I coordinated the module review meeting reports for the two (2) organizations and developed a monitoring and evaluation framework for the project., 01/01/YY - 12/31/YY
