Dr Edor, Atu Akambi is an accomplished academic, researcher, playwright, theatre director, and cultural administrator with over thirteen years of teaching and professional experience spanning secondary and tertiary education, academic research, theatre practice, and cultural administration. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theatre and Media Studies with specialisation in Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC), a Master of Arts in Media Arts Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Theatre Arts. He possesses extensive experience in university teaching, curriculum implementation, undergraduate project supervision, research methodology, strategic communication, theatre and performance studies, and development communication. His interdisciplinary background combines scholarship with professional practice, enabling him to contribute meaningfully to teaching, research, community engagement, and institutional development. Dr Edor currently serves as Principal Performing Arts Officer with the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), where he coordinates cultural programmes, manages artistic and educational projects, promotes youth development initiatives, develops institutional partnerships, and contributes to policy implementation through arts and culture. His research interests focus on Social and Behaviour Change Communication, Strategic Communication, Development Communication, Theatre for Development, Media and Society, Indigenous Performance Studies, Cultural Communication, Environmental Communication, and Communication for Sustainable Development. He is committed to advancing knowledge through innovative teaching, impactful research, scholarly publication, and community-oriented service.
