• Manage the secure mobility for trucks moving between the Zambia border and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for aN Export company

• Mozambique Anti Piracy.
• Managed the security escort vessel during the maritime deployment protecting the ships from acts of piracy.
• My duties included the planning and execution of maritime patrols of the off-shore oil platform SAIPEM.
• I was also charged with training Mozambique Marine Infantry units in maritime operations with a focus on protection against boarding of our ship in hostile situations.

• This appointment was mainly in a management and intelligence role in support of First Quantum Minerals Limited in Ndola Zambia.
• Involved in managing locations such as Ndola, Solwezi, Bwana Mkubwa and Frontier.
• The role covered finance & administration management of the entire security deployment across all locations.
• The intelligence management focused on generating and analyzing security and business intelligence in order to protect the company against corruption and theft.
• In addition, the role covered managing agents and informants to generate reliable and timely advance information for the business to optimize protection of the business operations.
• I was also in charge of the reporting regime and profile compilations.

• Kurdistan region, Northern Iraq
• Manage the Camp site in support of an International Oil Company, which included finance, administration, logistics and security
• I was also the liaison officer to the oil & gas executives before, during and after deployments and managed VIP visits..
• I also generated the daily and weekly and monthly reports.
• The role also required the management of a sizable armed detail, ensuring all VPSHR and internationally agreed rules of engagement were adhered to at all times
• I was also accountable for all ordnance deployed at the location.

• Security Coordinator for the largest road construction project in Afghanistan (LBG / B&V / USAID).
  My management responsibilities included:
  Co-ordination of app. 600 international staff covering finance & administration – including HR - and the entire operational spectrum of a deployment in a ‘hostile environment’.
  My operation allowed for a secure deployment of an international workforce of construction engineers, road workers, including safeguarding staff, construction machinery & materials and worksites from armed and terrorist attacks.
  The concept of operations was based on static guarding and static & mobile armed patrols.
  I was also in charge for the entire reporting regime.
  Managing Shorab base and Tut Base security management with expatriate security officers.
  The role also required the management of a sizable armed detail, ensuring all VPSHR and internationally agreed rules of engagement were adhered to at all times.
  I was also accountable for all ordnance deployed in the location.

• Manage the armed security deployment for reconstruction engineers, including providing ‘Close Protection’ services
• This included the cooperation and coordination of asset deployment of Iraqi military and Coalition forces.
• I also recruited and trained Iraqi nationals in forming and augmenting ‘Reconstruction Liaison Teams’.

• I was involved in planning planning and co-ordination of the demining efforts of designated minefields in Iraq and Russia
• One of my core responsibilities were creating a safe & secure environment for demining engineers to operate in.

• Planning, managing and controlling the Quality Assurance process on behalf of the United Nations Mine Action Co-ordination Centre in Kosovo.
• A core responsibility was ensuring that contracted companies complied with laid down UN guidelines as well as their own – agreed on - respective Standard Operational Procedures and Health & Safety standards & processes.

• I was called up to do National Service during which I qualified and was deployed as Platoon Commander. Post my two years National Service, I enlisted with the South African Special Forces where I Qualified as an Seaborne Operator at 4 Reconnaissance Regiment - Langebaan.
• Most of my time was spent on both Training and Operations.
• Engineering, with the focus on Demining (Landmines), was also part of our training and this I later used for supporting Humanitarian Demining Projects in Kosovo, Kurdistan, Afghanistan and Russia.
