Risk Management

• Lead risk assessments (JSA/JHA, HAZID, HAZOP for process areas; machine-specific RA for huskers, polishers, conveyors, bucket elevators, packing lines).
• Implement and maintain Permit-to-Work (hot work, confined space, work at height, LOTO).
• Manage combustible dust hazards (housekeeping standards, dust collection, enclosure, grounding/bonding, explosion vents where applicable).

Compliance & Governance

• Maintain legal register and compliance calendar (OSH regulations, fire safety, pressure systems/boilers, electrical safety, first aid, and contractor safety).
• Develop/implement policies and SOPs (LOTO, machine guarding, powered industrial trucks, pedestrian/vehicle segregation.
• Coordinate statutory inspections: fire systems, lifting equipment, boilers, air receivers, pressure reliefs.

Incident & Emergency Management

• Lead incident investigations (root cause analysis using 5-Whys/Fishbone/ICAM).
• Own corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) and on-time closure.
• Maintain and drill the Emergency Response Plan (fire, medical, grain dust events).

Training & Culture

• Annual competency matrix; induction and role-based training (operators, maintenance, supervisors, drivers).
• Routine toolbox talks; safety leadership walks; Near-Miss and Good Catch programs.
• Behavior-based safety (BBS) observations; recognition and consequence management aligned to policy.

Operations Integration

• Pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) for new/modified equipment.
• Participate in Management of Change (MOC) for process changes.
• Coordinate maintenance safety (isolation verification, try-out, energized work permits).

Audits & Continuous Improvement

• Plan and execute internal HSE audits; oversee external audits/inspections.
• Lead 5S and housekeeping standards—especially in mills and husk/sesame cleaning areas.
• Track and analyze trends; drive projects that reduce risk and cost (e.g., interlocks, guards, dust extraction upgrades).

Compliance & Environmental Controls

• Maintain environmental permits (air/stack, wastewater, stormwater, waste transport/disposal).
• Monitor air emissions (boilers, husk-fired systems), dust/particulates, and noise.
• Manage wastewater quality (TSS, BOD/COD, oil/grease), spill prevention, and secondary containment.
• Establish waste management hierarchy: reduce → reuse → recycle → recover → dispose; manage by-products (rice husk, bran) responsibly.

Resource Efficiency & Footprint

• Energy management program (metering, baselining, energy intensity per ton milled).
• Water stewardship (source risk, efficiency in soaking/boiler makeup, leak detection).
• Husk/biomass use: combustion efficiency, ash handling, potential valorization (e.g., rice husk ash in materials).

Stakeholder & Community

• Interface with local regulators, community representatives, and customers on environmental matters.
• Environmental aspects and impacts register including community concerns (dust, traffic, noise).

• Built a sound safety culture with over 3000 Employees under my jurisdiction
• Recorded over 22million Manhours without a major incident
• Successfully developed EHS Management system documentation for the company and certified the Plant for ISO 45001 management system.

Risk Assessment & Control

• Conduct and update risk assessments for all rice plant operations: Paddy intake and cleaning
  Parboiling/drying, Milling, polishing, sorting
  Bagging and stitching, Storage/silos/bins, Boiler/steam systems, Conveyors, elevators, and augers.
  
• Identify and manage high‑risk areas: Machinery entanglement hazards, Combustible rice dust explosion hazards, Confined spaces (silos, pits, dust collectors), Vehicle–pedestrian interactions
  Working at height (silo roofs, elevators)
  

Implement and control:

Hot work permits, Confined space entry permits, Work at height, Electrical isolation / LOTOTO, Excavation permits.

• Ensure full guarding on: Husker, whitener, polisher, grader, de‑stoner
  Bucket elevators and chain conveyors
  Shaft/pulley assemblies
  
• Manage interlocks, emergency stops, and routine inspections.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT (RICE OPERATIONS)

• Manage rice husk waste, ash from boilers, and bran dust.
• Ensure proper disposal or reuse (energy, animal feed, soil enhancement).
• Monitor boiler emissions and wastewater discharge compliance.
• Prevent contamination of stormwater drains.
• Implement spill prevention and response plan (oil, diesel, lubricants).
• Manage solid waste segregation across the mill.
• Monitor & reduce consumption: Water for soaking/boiler make‑up, Diesel/biomass/energy

• Develop sustainability strategies for fuel efficiency & waste reduction.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

• Prepare and maintain site Emergency Response Plan (ERP):Rice dust fire, Boiler explosion, Silo/warehouse fire, Medical emergencies, Transportation accidents.
  
• Conduct quarterly drills (fire, evacuation, confined space rescue).
• Ensure fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, detectors are operational.
• Oversee firefighting team and ERT.

COMPLIANCE & AUDITS

• Maintain legal register for: Boilers, Pressure vessels, Fire systems, Electrical installations
  Waste management.
  
• Ensure all statutory inspections are completed.
• Conduct monthly HSE audits.
• Lead ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 system implementation.
• Support customer and third‑party HSE audits.

TRAINING & CULTURE

• Lead all HSE training for: Operators, supervisors, technicians, drivers, and contractors

DOCUMENTATION & REPORTING

• Maintain all HSE procedures, SOPs, risk assessments, and MSDS.
• Submit weekly/monthly reports to management: TRIR, LTIFR, Near-miss trends, Audit results, Training status, High-risk activities control
  

• Prepare Safety & Health Plan, Environmental Management plan, for specific tasks.
• Health & Safety (Risk Assessment & Management, JHA, HEMP, HAZID, HSE Planning, HSE Policies development, interpretation and communication to personnel, HSE Management Implementation.
• Ensure that a strong quality and safety culture is integrated fully into the day-to-day activities of the Corporation.
