Voluntary Experience

Barnardo’s Children worker, 2019-12, 2020-08: In my time, we raised funds exceeding £100,000. As a team, we assisted and donated children’s books, clothes, and games to various local hospital children’s wards.

Project Leader for a townwide planting project in hopes of creating a more aesthetically pleasing, Volunteer – Southall Black Sisters, assisted attorneys and caseworkers in offering legal counsel and support to clients dealing with family law, immigration, domestic violence, and similar matters. I gained a solid understanding of client care, confidentiality, and professional practice in this work, which gave me invaluable experience in a hectic legal advisory context. In addition to conducting legal research to support casework, my duties included creating legal documents and supporting documentation for ongoing situations. I ensured that records complied with data protection regulations by maintaining accurate, private case files. Furthermore, I wrote client letters, assisted the legal team with administrative tasks, and interacted professionally and empathetically with clients while acknowledging the delicate nature of many cases. When necessary, I communicated with outside organisations and agencies to advance client matters.
