  • Synthesis of metal-complexes with medicinal properties: Compounds with cancer targeting properties (recently synthesised β-diketonates of nickel (Ni) Cobalt (Co) and manganese (Mn) complexes to test for activity on different cancer cell lines);
  • NMR analysis: adequate experience with 1HNMR, 13CNMR, APT, 2D-NMR (HMBC & QC) using Bruker Topspin equipment and software.

Biophysics-based skills

  • Medical research: adequate experiment with DNA-proliferation assay (flow cytometry);
  • Medical research: adequate experiment with cell-viability assay (MTT);
  • Basic skills in molecular modelling and drug design tools: (Used Chimera, Swiss-Dock, Babel and Amber force-fields) for studying protein-ligand analysis on Linux platform (CentOS).
  • Protein-ligand docking and identification of binding site interactions, virtual screening (VS), 3-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QSAR) and identifying hit-molecule with Maestro Schrödinger software.
  • Molecular Dynamic simulation: simulated different proteins and ligands to examine stability of ligand in the protein binding site.
