At Appen LTD, I was hired as Translator and Transcription contractor. My duties include the following: Transcribing audio recordings in the Hausa language into written text, translating them into English, and vice-versa by ensuring the accuracy of my work and strict guidelines of the company’s standards. I always received feedback on the quality of the audio recordings in case there may be any clarity from the project team for the successful completion of the transcription and translation projects.
In the last three years working consecutively with Appen LTD, I have reached the annual target of 30-40% in a row.

At Google Translator, I worked as an English/Hausa Translator and oversaw and managed over 100 projects, and I was able to reduce a cost down by about 15% in three years.

Responsibilities:
• Translate technical materials from English to Hausa and vice-versa, including software user manuals, product descriptions, and technical reports
• Edit and proofread Hausa translations and ensure their accuracy and clarity
• Adhering to translation guidelines and standards set by Google
• Use translation tools such as SDL Trados, memoQ Translator Pro, and Lokalise to assist with translation tasks.
